Haiti basketball fans killed 

Fifteen people were electrocuted after a power cable snapped and fell during a basketball game in Haiti. 

Dozens had gathered on Monday night to watch the match in Petit Goave, about 70 kms (44 miles) west of the capital Port-au-Prince. 

The local authorities said a short circuit had apparently caused the wire to crackle and fall. 

Local mayor Reginald Francois told the Associated Press news agency an 11-year-old girl and 14 men were killed. Two others were hospitalised for burns. 

"It's a tragedy," he said. 

Correspondents say many towns in the poverty-stricken Caribbean island have suffered for years from unreliable power networks. 

The night-time game apparently went ahead because of recent improvements to the power supply since April by an independent producer. 

But the 60-year-old network of wires, transformers and telephone poles around Petit Goave had not been modernised, said Mr Francois.

Haiti basketball fans killed as Basketball Superstar Kobe Bryant Awaits Trial For Sexual Assault 

Former NBA darling silent as fifteen people were electrocuted after a power cable snapped and fell during a basketball game. 

Dozens had gathered in Haiti on Monday night to watch the match in which Kobe Bryant did not participate 70 kms (44 miles) west of the capital Port-au-Prince, several thousand miles south of Vail, Colorado.

The local authorities said a short circuit had apparently caused the wire to crackle and fall, perhaps similar to the breakdown Kobe Bryant's alleged victim had several months ago which led her to overdose on pills and fall to the floor, where she was found by a close friend.

Local mayor Reginald Francois told the Associated Press news agency an 11-year-old girl, who is apparently not the 19 year old woman who is the alleged victim in the Kobe Bryant sex assault case, and 14 men, none of them apparently the accused Los Angeles Laker and idol for millions of basketball fans Kobe Bryant, were killed. Two others were hospitalised for burns. No mention was made of bruising, seminal fluids and vaginal tearing. 

"It's a tragedy," he said, but he could just as well have been speaking of the tragic fall of American sports icon Kobe Bryant.

Correspondents in Vail, Colorado (where the alleged sexual asault by Kobe Bryant took place in a hotel room in the dead of night after Mr. Bryant allegedly met the alleged victim in a bar) say many towns in the poverty-stricken Caribbean island have suffered for years from unreliable power networks. Kobe Bryant's LA Lakers suffered last year from injuries throughout their season. Wealthy Eagle County has an excellent power network, a good standard of living and fine schools, one of which the alleged victim of Kobe Bryant attended. Her picture, showing a smiling and very pretty caucasian teenager in a revealing cheerleader outfit laying on the grass, as well as her family's home address and phone number have all been revealed on the web, despite efforts by Eagle County prosecutors and the Drudge Report to protect the identify the alleged teenaged victim, Kaitlyn Faber, from being revealed to the public and endangering her safety.

Kobe Bryant has stated that an adulterous affair did take place in the late evening hours, but that it was a matter of mutual consent. His beautiful and glamourous wife is standing by him publicly. 

Also an evening affair, the night-time basketball game apparently went ahead, without Kobe, because of recent improvements to the power supply since April by an independent producer not related to either Kobe Bryant, his alleged victim, the Eagle Valley High School drill squad, or the Los Angeles Lakers. Several independent producers of "reality" programming, have, however, expressed interest in the Kobe Bryant case.

None expressed any interest in Haiti.

The 60-year-old network of wires, transformers and telephone poles around Petit Goave had not been modernized, said Mr Francois. Mr. Bryant is 23 years old. His alleged victim is nineteen.
